What actually happened
Google Ads has documented an AI campaign localization beta that creates a separate campaign from an eligible English (US) Search campaign. It can translate headlines, descriptions, sitelinks, callouts and keywords into 10 supported language variants, including Spanish for Spain, German, French, Italian and Polish. The original campaign stays unchanged.
For landing pages, advertisers can install Google's JavaScript snippet for dynamic translation or replace URLs with existing localized pages. The interface shows original text, translations and back-translations for review. The new campaign is paused by default. Crucially, Google copies bids and budget values from the source campaign without currency conversion or exchange-rate adjustments.
Why a small team cares
Picture a small software company with a reliable English-language Search campaign and enough support capacity to sell in Spain. Expanding normally means translating ad copy, checking the keywords, producing a Spanish landing page and building a separate campaign by hand. Google's beta groups much of that repetitive preparation into one workflow.
That removes some setup friction but not the actual market work. Search intent, product terminology, pricing expectations and acceptable claims can differ by country. A landing page translated dynamically may still contain untranslated screenshots, awkward legal language or checkout steps in English. Conversion tracking must work across the entire path or the new campaign can look worse or better than it really is.
Hype vs useful
Back-translation is a convenient quality check, but it cannot confirm that copy sounds natural to a local buyer. Someone who speaks the target language should inspect the advertisements and the actual clicked landing page, not only the review table.
Google's documentation presently specifies Search campaigns with an English (US) source and the 10 language variants. It also mentions a planned Performance Max expansion, but that forward-looking note does not establish availability in every account. The interesting part is faster preparation of a controlled international test. Turning on spending without checking copied budget amounts or the localized conversion path defeats that benefit.
